Books
I asked several of my strongest students to suggest some of their favourite books so I could create a list of novels that would be both enjoyable and challenging to grade 9 students. This is their list.
While I have read some of the older works on this list I cannot personally vouch for all of the books. As always, I recommend that both parent and student work together to find books that are appropriate and of interest. This is of course not an exhaustive list, but it is a good place to start. All links go to the book's page at the Chapters/Indigo website - this is not an endorsement of that site or store over any other, but solely to provide information on each book to help both parent and student decide what is right for them.
